As another year comes rapidly to a close, it provides with it the opportunity to reflect on the last 12 months, and an expectation of what next year could bring.
I hope that as you look back on 2019, you find that it treated you well. I know that we can’t all exactly say that, but while it’s easy to focus on the things that may have went wrong this year, let’s try to look at it this way: The things that went well, and the things that we can learn to make better / grow from along the way.
Also, as we reflect on the things that happened this year, we must remind ourselves of things that are unchanging. We have a God I heaven who is ruling, reigning, and carrying out His sovereign plan in this world. More personally, we know that those of us who have chosen to turn from our sinful past and our human nature to do what only pleases ourselves, and turned toward God, and the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, can rest assured of the salvation that we have received through the precious gift of Jesus’ death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection from the grave!
In my life there have definitely been some high-points and some low-points to this year, but I am looking forward to both the things yet to come, and the things that are behind me for good. Specifically, I’m excited to see what a full year of GamesandJesus.com can look like. I’m excited that a new generation of consoles are headed our way – both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X will be in people’s hands by this time next year! (although probably not mine, lol) Personally, I’m hoping to grow in new ways in my relationship with God. Of course, my marriage is strong and my family is close, but I pray that we grow even stronger and even closer in 2020 and beyond.
The Christmas season and the coming New Year can be a hard time for some people, as people think about what or who they don’t have with them or think of goals unachieved. My prayer for all of you this Christmas however is that as you remember the gift of Christ in your life, and remember that we can do all things through the strength of Christ, that you look to God for big vision and for big dreams in the year that is to come. Family dreams, relationship dreams, professional dreams, I pray that all your dreams feel as though they are closer than ever, and that through the direction and power of Jesus, you achieve all that you are tasked to do this coming year!
God Bless you and Merry Christmas,
Alex C.
